We make inlays and onlays for restoring a large filling which has good base and does not require root canal treatment or is too deep to cause severe sensitivity. In general inlays and onlays are used to repair rear teeth that have a mild to moderate amount of decay. They can also be used to restore teeth that are cracked or fractured if the damage is not severe enough to require a dental crown. We make our inlays and onlays from porcelain/ceramic, composite resin and sometimes from gold. Ceramic/porcelain inlays match the color of your tooth and they appear pleasant and natural to the color of your tooth. Being made out of your mouth inlays/onlays are much stronger than the normal fillings. With evolution of computer assistance design and computer assistance milling machine CAD/CAM inlay and onlays are becoming easy and fast to make, in ten to twenty years majority of posterior class I and II filling will be replaced by inlays.
